👨💼【Teacher / Bank Relationship Manager】:
Thank you for meeting with us today. We need to discuss your company's debt repayment schedule. The current situation is quite serious.
🧑🎓【Student / CFO】:
I understand your concern. Let me explain our situation. First, our revenue declined by 30 percent last year. Second, we need more time to recover. Third, we request a 2-year extension on the repayment deadline.
👨💼【Teacher / Bank Relationship Manager】:
A 2-year extension is difficult to approve. What about the total debt amount? Can you reduce it through asset sales?
🧑🎓【Student / CFO】:
We already sold our warehouse last month. We received 500000 USD from that sale. We plan to use this amount to reduce the debt by 15 percent. However, we still need the extension to avoid default.
👨💼【Teacher / Bank Relationship Manager】:
I see your effort. But our bank requires a clear recovery plan. How will you increase revenue in the next 2 years?
🧑🎓【Student / CFO】:
We will focus on our core business and reduce operating costs by 20 percent. We expect revenue to increase gradually starting next quarter. We also arranged a new contract with a major client worth 800000 USD per year.
👨💼【Teacher / Bank Relationship Manager】:
That contract helps your case. What if revenue does not increase as expected? Do you have a backup plan?
🧑🎓【Student / CFO】:
If revenue falls short, we will sell additional assets including our office building. We estimate that sale would bring 1200000 USD. This would cover 40 percent of the remaining debt. We want to avoid this option, but we are prepared.
👨💼【Teacher / Bank Relationship Manager】:
I appreciate your detailed explanation and backup plan. I will present this proposal to our credit committee. Please send me the recovery plan document by the end of this week. We will respond within 10 business days.
