(Reference again)

This is a scenario where you explain design change management methods necessary for transitioning from prototype to mass production to overseas customers.

👨‍💼【Teacher / Overseas Customer】:
Thank you for the prototype samples. We'd like to move forward to mass production. Can you explain how you'll manage design changes during this transition?
🧑‍🎓【Student / Design Engineer】:
Certainly. We need to make some design changes to improve manufacturability. First, we'll simplify the assembly process. Second, we'll reduce the number of parts. Third, we'll use standard components where possible. These changes will help us achieve stable mass production.

👨‍💼【Teacher / Overseas Customer】:
I understand the need for changes, but how will you ensure the product performance remains the same? We approved the prototype based on specific test results.
🧑‍🎓【Student / Design Engineer】:
We'll follow a strict change control process. Before making any design change, we'll test the new design and confirm it meets all your requirements. We'll share the test reports with you for approval. Only after your approval will we proceed with the change.

👨‍💼【Teacher / Overseas Customer】:
What about the timeline? We have a tight schedule for market launch. Will these design changes cause any delay?
🧑‍🎓【Student / Design Engineer】:
We've planned the changes carefully to avoid delays. We'll complete all design changes within 4 weeks. We'll work on testing and your approval in parallel with tooling preparation. This approach will keep us on schedule for mass production start in 3 months.

👨‍💼【Teacher / Overseas Customer】:
That sounds reasonable. One more concern — will these changes affect the unit price we agreed on?
🧑‍🎓【Student / Design Engineer】:
Actually, the changes will reduce the manufacturing cost. We expect to reduce the unit price by 8 percent compared to the prototype cost. We'll provide you with a detailed cost breakdown after we finalize the design changes. This will benefit both sides in the long term.

👨‍💼【Teacher / Overseas Customer】:
Excellent. Please send us the change control procedure document and the proposed timeline. We'll review it with our team and get back to you by the end of this week.
